Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) Cost | Fairfax | Northern Virginia

Northern VA, Fairfax, Loundoun Eyelid Surgery, Blepharoplasty CostEyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is mainly done for cosmetic purposes but in many cases, people undergo eyelid surgery is used to correct congenital disorders and symptoms like weakened eyelids. In the expert and able hands of Dr. Trang Vo-Nguyen, the level of risks drop dramatically. This is why Dr. Trang Vo-Nguyen is so popular in places where he offers eyelid surgery procedures such as in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas and Warrenton.

Cost of the surgery

Eyelid surgery is one of the less expensive plastic surgery procedures of the face. In the US, the procedure can cost about $2,900 but this also depends on the doctor and hospital that you are being treated at. Anesthesia, post-op procedures, operating facilities and so on can all change the cost of the eyelid surgery procedure. Make sure to ask your doctor for financing options that are available before you can undergo the procedure so that you can be sure of the different options and what is right for you.

In most cases, your bill for your eyelid surgery procedure will include the surgeon or doctor’s fee, hospital or clinic charges for the facilities provided, cost of medications and prescriptions, fees for anesthesia administered and the cost of carious medical tests. Be aware that most insurance companies do not cover cosmetic procedures so you need to be prepared to shell out the money yourself.

Before you can get on with blepharoplasty, you need to know the risks associated with it. The surgery is invasive and does cost quite a bit of money – especially without insurance, and knowing the risks will help you better prepare.

Risks with blepharoplasty

All good plastic surgeons like Dr. Trang Vo-Nguyen will explain the risks of the surgery beforehand so that you can make an informed decision. First and foremost, there is always a risk of infection at the site of the surgery. Other possible complication includes scarring, bleeding and even the formation of blood clots. All this can be avoided by having eyelid surgery or Blepharoplasty at the hands of a good plastic surgeon. You should keep in mind that scarring can be permanent in some people. A small percentage of the population suffer from keloids and the risk of scarring from eyelid surgery is much higher in such people.

Some people who have had this surgery have also complained of complications like fluid accumulation near the site of surgery, numbness, peculiar sensations on the skin and swelling. Sometimes these side effects can occur but they disappear quickly and leave no lasting effects or these complications can be cured with proper measures suggested by your plastic surgeon.

A very small number of patients have also found that their eyelids have rolled outwards, known as Ectropion, after undergoing eyelid surgery. As with any surgery, complications can also arise from the anaesthesia being used so you need to ensure that you are being assigned the best anaesthesiologist to eliminate such complications.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) Overview

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Eyes are the windows to our soul, goes the popular adage. However, the windows tend to need some repair after a certain point in time to keep up with the ageless soul. This is where Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery comes into the picture. Ptosis or droopy eyelids usually affects old people, wherein the tendon of the muscle responsible for lifting the eyelid stretches and fails to function. Congenital Ptosis is the presence of droopy lids in a person since birth. People suffering from both the conditions can benefit from  blepharoplasty wherein the sagging skin around the eyes is tightened to achieve a youthful appearance.

How can blepharoplasty help you?

Blepharoplasty is the ultimate solution for problems ranging from fat deposits in the upper and lower lids to excess skin and muscle on either lids that make them droopy. An upper eyelid surgery is done by creating incisions on the skin through, after which the fat is removed. It is followed by the stitching up of the skin that creates an eyelid crease.

The lower eyelid surgery involves the transconjunctival approach, wherein the incisions are made below the lash line or the insides of the eyelids. This approach helps correct the droopiness of the lower eyelids to show the white portion below the iris and reduce wrinkles as well as sagging in certain cases.

A double eyelid surgery, more commonly known as Asian eyelid surgery involves the creation of an upper eyelid crease to widen the eyes. This procedure is also referred to as the Westernization of the eyelids. A recent surgical procedure for fat reduction from the eyelids involves redistributing the fat through the tear trough which has an added advantage of avoiding the sunken look after the fat has been removed.

Individuals with healthy eyes and a good overall health are the ideal candidates for a blepharoplasty. Local anaesthesia and intravenous sedation are administered to a patient undergoing this cosmetic eyelid surgery.

After the treatment

The surgical procedure for eyelid correction usually lasts for about two hours following which, the patient can return home either on the same day or the next morning. A period of seven to fourteen days is required to recuperate from the operation. Subsequent visits to the hospital are required if there are some stitches that need to be removed.

Eyelid surgery is usually a pain-free experience although it is common to experience bruising around the eye. Some patients may experience redness and swelling around the eye, which subsides within a few days. In case of swelling that persists, bleeding or a sudden painful experience, it is advisable to contact the consulting plastic surgeon.

It is crucial to follow your surgeon’s post-op care instructions for a complication-free recovery. Cold compresses applied to the eye help in reducing the swelling. Dry or Itchy eyes need to be administered eye drops and ointments to prevent infection in the treated area. Exercises and strenuous activities should be put on hold until the surgeon instructs the patient to refrain from them.

Blepharoplasty is the best option to counter the aging process as wrinkles start forming around the eyelids. Facial Implants Before and After Photos (Cheek & Chin)

Facial Implants Before and After PhotosFacial implants can be used effectively to enhance the facial profile and improve harmony between various facial features. Dr. V is a board certified facial plastic surgeon providing various facial plastic surgery treatments, including facial implants. She makes it a point to educate her patients as far as possible about different aspects of facial implants.

Chin Implant Before & After Photos

Cheek Implant Before & After Photos

She prefers to use facial implant before and after pictures during the initial consultation. Patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and nearby areas have an opportunity to receive effective solutions from Dr. V.

What are Facial Implant Before and After Images?

Before and after images in case of facial implant procedure refer to a set of pictures pertaining to a previous patient who has undergone the same procedure successfully. The set includes pictures taken prior to the surgery and after the surgery when full effects of the procedure have appeared.

These pictures are taken in a discreet manner and after obtaining the consent of the patient. The aim is to educate a new patient about various aspects of facial implants and help them make informed choices. Plastic surgeons typically make use of facial implant before and after photos as a visual aid during the initial consultation process.

Benefits

A new patient who is looking for a suitable facial plastic surgery may not have a clear and specific idea of how facial implant procedure may help them meet their aesthetic needs. Facial implants may be used in a variety of ways, depending on the facial anatomy and aesthetic goals of a patient. Implants may be used for cheek augmentation or chin augmentation in many cases. The patient would like to know how such a change may impact the overall appearance of the face.

In some cases, the patient may have an option between procedures such as a facelift, facial grafting, or facial implants. A combination of two or more surgical procedures may also be recommended in some cases. The patient will be in a better position to make an informed decision on the treatment when before and after photos are available to them. It makes the consultative process more effective.

Considering the key advantages of before and after photos, Dr. V ensures that these photographs for facial implants and other procedures are made available at her office. Patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and surrounding communities can review these pictures during the initial consultation.

Being Realistic about the Procedure

Success and failure in plastic surgery procedures such as facial implants can be quite a subjective matter. Therefore, it is integral for a plastic surgeon to ensure that a new patient is clearly informed about them what a procedure can or cannot do for them.

When the patients form correct or realistic expectations they are much more likely to be satisfied and happy with the results in the end. Facial implant before and after photos can play a key role to ensure that the patient understands the potential effectiveness of the procedure clearly at the outset.

Facial Implant Cost – Chin Implants | Cheek Implants

Cost of Facial Implants

Northern Virginia | Loundoun | Fairfax Facial Implant Cost Chin | CheekFacial implants are an effective way to enhance the facial appearance and improve overall facial balance. As an experienced facial plastic surgeon, Dr. V discusses all aspects of a facial implant procedure with her patients, including the cost aspect, at the time of initial consultation. Her goal is to ensure that the patient is in a position to make an informed choice and be well aware of the estimated costs that they may have to bear.

Cost aspect becomes particularly important when facial implant surgery is performed purely for aesthetic reasons. In such a case, the cost may not be covered under the patient’s health plan. Patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and surrounding communities can discuss various aspects, including cost of facial implant procedure.

Pivotal Factors Impacting the Cost

The cost of facial implant procedure may depend on a number of factors as follows:

Where the Practice is located

The location of practice can contribute to the overall cost of facial implant surgery because each geographical region may have a different cost of living index. This index influences the average cost of most types of goods and services in a particular area, including plastic surgery procedures such as facial implants. For instance, the cost of this surgery in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and nearby areas may differ from the cost of the same procedure in Santa Barbara, CA.

Fee Charged by the Surgeon

A plastic surgeon may charge a fee to perform a facial implant surgery, depending on their qualifications, experience and recognition as a facial plastic surgeon. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) suggests that patients should opt for the right surgeon for their needs, and consider the surgeon’s fee component only as a secondary factor in such a decision.

Costs of Anesthesia and Operating Room

Facial implant procedure may be performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation with local anesthesia, depending on the specific case. The fee of anesthesiologist may vary as per their skills and experience. The quality of the surgical facility, the qualifications and experience of the staff, and services provided at the facility may impact the operating room costs.

Nature of Implant Procedure

A facial implant procedure may be performed to reduce or augment the size of the chin, enhance the cheekbones. It may involve the use of more than one implant to make the face appear wider or narrower as the case may be. In some cases, the facial implant surgery may be performed as a part of facial reconstruction following an injury. The type of implant materials used may also impact the overall costs of the procedure. For instance, high strength silicone implants may cost more than polyethylene based facial implants.

Average Cost of Surgery

The average cost of cheek or chin implants may range anywhere between $6,000 and $12,000, depending on various factors. The costs of anesthesia and operating room may or may not be included in this price, as per the charges in a particular case or at a particular surgical practice.

Cheek and Chin Facial Implants

Facial Implants Information

Cheek | Chin Facial Implants | Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Northern VirginiaFacial implantation is a plastic surgery procedure designed to enhance facial contours. It involves the use of synthetic or natural implants to improve the facial balance and a more sculpted facial appearance. Dr. V is an experienced, board certified facial plastic surgeon providing facial implant surgery to patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and nearby areas.

Facial implants can be used to augment a recessed chin, provide improved definition to the jaw line, make the facial structure more proportionate, and provide a well-defied contour to the face. Chin and cheekbones are two of the most common areas where facial implants can be used effectively.

An Overview of Cheek Implants

Augmented cheek bones can enhance the appearance of the face dramatically. If the face appears sunken underneath the eyes or mid-face area, cheek augmentation can improve that appearance. It can restore facial proportion by the improving the maximal projection point. Cheek implants can also help patients with a narrow face. The implants can be placed apart in a way to make the face appear wider. Conversely, by reducing the gap between the implants can make a wider face look narrower and more angular.

Dr. V uses the latest techniques for effective cheek augmentation for her patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and nearby areas. According to Dr. V, the three key variables that can be used to achieve the desired impact include implant volume, implant shape and projection, and implant position. A balanced use of these variables can help a patient achieve the desired aesthetic outcomes.

Chin Implants

Chin is one of the areas that can make a significant difference to the overall facial balance. Along with the nose, the chin determines the facial symmetry of the lower face. If the chin is short or small, it can create an illusion of a larger sized nose or a poorly defined chin. Similarly, a disproportionately long chin can make the nose appear smaller, and the upper face to appear depleted or sunken. Even minor improvements in the chin’s appearance with implants can lead to marked improvement in the overall facial harmony.

Chin implant procedure begins with the selection of the right size and shape of implants that will enhance the facial profile and balance. The soft, biocompatible implants are surgically inserted into the space above the front of the jawbone. Following the implant procedure, the patient will experience some swelling and bruising. However, most patients will be able to recover well within a week, and return to work. Results can be dramatic and long lasting with chin implant surgery.

Synthetic facial implants are usually produced with a variety of materials such as high density polyethylene, high strength silicone, nylon mesh, and other compounds. An experienced surgeon will tailor the implant material, size, and shape according to the facial form in order to achieve the best possible aesthetic goals as desired by the patient.

Facial Plastic Surgery by Surgeon Dr. Vo-Nguyen

Facial Plastic Surgery Overview

Manassas | Leesburg | Middleburg Facial Cosmetic Plastic SurgeryA face lies at the core of a person’s beauty profile. Signs of aging can be identified first on the face, and if the face looks rejuvenated, a person will usually appear younger than their age. Dr. V, at the Virginia Institute of Surgical Arts, is a board certified facial plastic surgeon providing innovative facial aesthetic surgery procedures. Patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and surrounding areas have an opportunity to receive state of the art facial surgery solutions at Dr. V’s office.

A facelift is the primary facial rejuvenation surgical procedure that can make a comprehensive difference to how old a person looks. Relatively minor procedures such as brow lift, eyelid lift, rhinoplasty, lip and chin augmentation may or may not be added with a facelift. In many cases, the surgeon will recommend a combination of facelift and neck lift to achieve more harmonious outcomes. If the patient needs just a minor facial enhancement, a mini facelift procedure may suffice. The surgeon will make the appropriate recommendations based on the patient’s facial anatomy, health condition, and their personal aesthetic goals.

What is a Facelift?

A facelift is one of the popular plastic surgery procedures in the U.S. today. Advanced technologies and surgical techniques have made the procedure safer, more conservative, and more effective. The procedure involves surgical reduction of signs of aging from the face to restore a younger looking and more attractive face. The surgery involves removal or reposition of excess fats, tightening of underlying stretched facial muscles, and excision of loose facial skin.

Terrific Candidates

Adults who are unhappy with the conspicuous signs of aging on their face, and are keen to reduce loose facial skin and make the face appear smoother may consider facelift plastic surgery. Individuals within the age group of 30 to 60 may be ideal and fantastic candidates for this procedure. The ideal candidate will have some amount of elasticity in the facial skin so that the best possible results can be achieved.

On average, a full facelift surgery may successfully take five to 10 years off the face of the patient. Dr. V provides this surgery to patients located in and around Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, and Warrenton.

Facelift Procedure

A facelift surgery is usually performed as an outpatient procedure. The surgeon may use general anesthesia or IV sedation, depending on the extent of surgery involved and other factors. The procedure begins with the plastic surgeon making an incision that starts in the temple area and goes along the hairline up to the ear. Through this discreetly placed incision, the surgeon will reduce excess skin, reposition or remove excess fat as needed, and tighten the weak underlying muscles and tissue.

The goal is to achieve a firmer and smoother facial contour. The procedure may be performed using traditional surgical techniques or endoscopic technique. Once the skin is re-draped smoothly over the face, the incisions will be closed with sutures or skin adhesive. The procedure is usually completed within two to three hours.

Asian Rhinoplasty (Nose Job Surgery)

Asian Rhinoplasty (Nose Job Surgery)Dr. Trang Vo-Nguyen is a board certified facial plastic surgeon providing procedures such as rhinoplasty to patients in Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, Warrenton, and other areas.

Dr. V has the expertise for ethnic rhinoplasty for Asians, which requires a close understanding of the unique Asian facial features and how they may vary from Caucasian features. Patients of Eastern Asian descent, who are looking for aesthetic nose surgery procedures, may benefit the most from treatment with Dr. V.

What is Asian Rhinoplasty?

Asian rhinoplasty includes plastic surgery procedures that are designed to enhance the appearance of the nose in Asian patients, without compromising the essential ethnicity of the face. It is imperative that such a procedure should be performed by a surgeon with specific experience in ethnic rhinoplasty.

The aesthetic needs and goals of Asian patients are typically different from those of Caucasian patients. Silicone implant augmentation is one of the common procedures required in Asian rhinoplasty. Wherever possible, the surgeon may use patient’s cartilage from ear, nose or ribs to augment the nose to the desired size and shape.

Anatomy of the Asian Nose

The average Asian nose is typically wider when compared to a Caucasian nose. The projection of the nose is shorter and less prominent. The dorsum is generally less projecting and the nasal bridge is also lower. The nasal tip may be rounder or poorly defined, or less projecting in the Asian nose. In some cases, such as in the case of Japanese patients, the dorsum may have a convex shape.

The base of the nose is wider in relation to the height of the nose, and the labionasal angle may be sharper. Therefore, Dr. V ensures that her patients in and around Chantilly, Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Arlington, Middleburg, Leesburg, Manassas, and Warrenton receive customized treatment based on the specific ethnic anatomy and aesthetic goals of a patient.

Common Asian Rhinoplasty Procedures

Augmenting the dorsum and sharpening of the nasal tip projection are two of the common nose procedures that Asian patients typically ask for. Concomitant nasal lengthening may also be needed, if the patient has a flat and short nose. Dorsal hump and nasal tip reduction procedures may not be required by most Asian patients. Nose augmentation in case of Asian rhinoplasty may be performed with silicone implants or using patient’s own cartilage.

Nose Augmentation with Implants

Silicone implants are used by many plastic surgeons who are focused on Asian rhinoplasty procedures. Patients with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Taiwanese ethnic origins may be looking to increase the size of their nose in harmony with the rest of the face. Some surgeons prefer silicone implant based augmentation, particularly if they believe that the outcome will be more enhanced with it.

Compared to an autologus surgery, involving patient’s own cartilage, the surgery with silicone implants can be less complicated and avoiding the risk of donor site morbidity. However, in some cases, the surgeon may prefer autologus rhinoplasty, if the outcome may be more effective with this technique.
