Ultherapy™ Skin Tightening: Overview
Ultherapy™ is the only FDA-approved device that utilizes the safe energy of controlled ultrasound technology to stimulate the deep structural support layers of your skin, the Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System (SMAS). Day of Treatment
During your Ultherapy™ procedure, Dr. V will place a smooth applicator on your skin that will project an image onto a screen allowing her to plan where to direct the ultrasound energy. This same applicator uses micro-focused ultrasound to deliver targeted energy under the surface of your skin with the optimal depth, temperature, and precision necessary to disturb the layer (dermis) with its vibration and low level of heat. The reaction to the levels of ultrasound heat energy causes the skin to contract immediately setting off a response of healing that ultimately results in an increase in collagen and this reaction also gently heats the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of your skin.
Ultherapy™ stimulates collagen generation and tightens the connective tissue at a deeper level and the ability to treat not just the skin but its underlying support structure from the inside out helps control the tension to ensure outstanding results. Collagen is vital to the texture and firmness of your skin affecting the contour of your face and your skin’s response to the energy will stimulate the growth of new collagen resulting in a gradual tightening and firming that results in a “natural” lift.
