Procedure of The Eyes
Your eyes say a lot about you and they are usually the first things people notice. As your skin ages, it gradually begins to lose elasticity and this loss as well as the constant pull from gravity can cause skin to collect on your upper and lower eyelids. On the lower eyelid, this extra skin causes wrinkles while on the upper eyelids it can actually hang over your eyelashes and impede your vision. Cosmetic eye surgery encompasses a number of surgical procedures designed to improve the appearance of your eyes. Most patients choose to have eye surgery to correct the signs of aging and it is performed on the eyelids or surrounding tissues: not your actual eyes. Other terms for cosmetic eye surgery include blepharoplasty, cosmetic eyelid surgery, eyelid plastic surgery, and cosmetic Asian eyelid surgery. Blepharoplasty is the most frequently performed cosmetic eye surgery and according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), blepharoplasty is the fourth most popular elective cosmetic procedure, behind liposuction, breast augmentation, and abdominoplasty.
